President’s Message

President Message
I am grateful to the APPNA Alberta community for entrusting me with the responsibility of serving as
President for the 2026–2027 term. Building on my previous leadership roles within APPNA Alberta
chapter, I remain deeply committed to service, collaboration, and fostering an inclusive and
engaged community.
My vision for this term is to expand opportunities for advocacy, leadership, and meaningful
participation. I encourage all members to contribute actively, as we will soon be inviting
expressions of interest for committee involvement while continuing to support the important work
of our existing committees through transparent governance, accountability, and leadership
development.
A key priority for me is strengthening support for International Medical Graduates (IMGs) through
the Young Physicians Committee by providing mentorship, exam guidance, and clinical exposure
opportunities. I also remain committed to establishing the Nominations and Elections Committee
and the Ethics and Grievance Committee in accordance with our bylaws.
In addition, I aim to expand our social welfare and disaster relief initiatives, increase year-round
community engagement, and build partnerships that address mental health, education, and social
well-being. We plan to introduce frequent health awareness sessions, launch a health-focused
podcast, develop youth mentorship programs, and create a confidential database of Pakistani
healthcare professionals in Alberta to enhance mentorship and guidance.
As a volunteer-driven organization, I am committed to recognizing our volunteers, strengthening
social advocacy, celebrating cultural and religious events, and increasing community engagement
beyond scheduled programs. I invite all physicians, residents, and IMGs to become members of
APPNA Alberta as we work together toward a year of growth, unity, and meaningful impact.
Tehmina Munaf MD. CCFP. CSAM(c).ISAM(c)
